CONFERENCE VENUE

CKK Jordanki – Centrum Kulturalno Kongresowe w Toruniu

CKK Jordanki is situated just a two-minute walk from the heart of Toruń’s historic Old Town. This architectural marvel, designed by Fernando Menis, blends modern concrete with traditional red brick using a unique „picado” technique that mimics the city’s Gothic heritage. Its cave-like, expressionist interior isn’t just visually stunning: it features a sophisticated modular acoustic system, making it one of the most versatile and acoustically advanced conference spaces in Europe.

WELCOME RECEPTION

The Welcome reception witll take place on June 21 (Sun) at 7pm in Collegium Maximum (address Plac Rapackiego 1)

Located at the entrance to Toruń’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, Collegium Maximum is one of Nicolaus Copernicus University’s most iconic landmarks. Built in 1906 as a grand imperial bank, this Neo-Renaissance masterpiece now serves as a representative University building . Its historic interiors and ornate assembly hall provide a prestigious backdrop, bridging the city’s rich architectural heritage with modern academic life.

CONFERENCE DINNER

The dinner will be held at the Golub Castle on June 24th (Wed), located at PTTK 13, Golub-Dobrzyń near Toruń. Complimentary transport to and from the venue will be provided for all participants. Details regarding pickup times and locations will be shared at the registration desk.

Built in the 14th century, Golub Castle is a magnificent Teutonic fortress that captures the medieval spirit of the region. Originally a defensive stronghold, it was later transformed into a Renaissance residence for Princess Anna Vasa, whose influence is still visible in its elegant attics and vaulted interiors. Today, the castle stands as one of the most atmospheric venues in Poland, famous for its grand knights’ hall and its tradition of hosting historical tournaments. It offers a truly unique, storied setting for our conference reception.

ACCOMMODATION

Toruń is a popular tourist destination during the summer season. As a result, hotels and other accommodation options, particularly those located in or near the Old Town, tend to fill up quickly.

Participants of EGAS57 are therefore strongly encouraged to book their accommodation well in advance to ensure availability and suitable options during the conference dates.
